We are pleased to announce that Jemma Lewis has been appointed to the role of Chaplain at Sheoak Grove. Jemma will make a valuable contribution to the social and emotional wellbeing of our school community. She will be part of our student services team.

Jemma’s position is funded through the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP), and complimented with funding from the YouthCARE Council and our school to make a 2 day per week program.

Jemma is provided to us through YouthCARE.  YouthCARE chaplains are there to listen, and provide a supportive place to talk. They offer confidential, non-judgmental pastoral care and programs based on respect, compassion and service. YouthCARE chaplains are trained in pastoral care, with ongoing training opportunities provided to specialise in critical incidences, community members living in isolation and mental health initiatives.  If you would like to know more about YouthCARE Chaplains, you can access information and watch an introductory video here:

For further information you can download the YouthCARE Chaplaincy flyer here.

The School Chaplaincy Program is voluntary, meaning parents and students can choose if they wish to participate in any program or work with our chaplain. Our participation in the chaplaincy program was been endorsed by our Steering Committee in 2019 and will be reviewed by our School Board as a matter of course.   We are very happy to welcome Jemma into the Sheoak Grove Primary School Community and look forward to the contributions she will make.
